All students will complete the first two levels, 6th and 5th Lower Levels, of the core curiculum. After this they may either continue with the core curiculum or specialize in one of the Nine Methods. Most students tend to choose Jujutsu or Kung Fu. A student is allowed to switch at any time. Understandably, this increases the time required to achieve high rank in any one area. Students will experience many different methods but are encouraged to be specifically skillful in one and familiar with all. The White Phoenix System has an individual rank structure as do each of the Nine Methods. For example, one may be a Black Sash in the core curriculim and only a Green Sash in White Phoenix Kung Fu.
